Our Process

For each oil sands EIA, AXYS:

  • produces an EIA and a socio-economic impact assessment (SEIA) that meet the terms of reference Alberta Environment provides
  • focuses the EIA on issues of concern raised by stakeholders and regulators
  • clarifies specific requirements with regulators before undertaking extensive field work
  • uses existing data to reduce baseline costs and develop effective mitigation measures
  • coordinates field work to contain costs
  • produces a high quality application that can be reviewed and commented on by the regulators as quickly as possible
  • ensures environmental management techniques will integrate as seamlessly as possible into the operational phase
  • manages work scope and budget closely to avoid any unexpected costs or cost overruns
