Integrated Landscape Management

Integrated landscape management (ILM), in which clearing and infrastructure is coordinated or shared among projects, reduces environmental effects and project development costs. AXYS pioneered the use of ILM in the Athabasca oil sands are, and has refined this to a very effective management strategy. More Info

Constraints Mapping

AXYS has also participated in developing a constraints mapping tool that assists oil sands developers in siting facilities to avoid potentially sensitive environmental and cultural geographic areas. Regulators are viewing use of this tool very favourably as it minimizes footprint effects. More Info

Predevelopment Assessments

AXYS is knowledgeable on the regulatory requirements for predevelopment assessments, which are required just prior to breaking ground for an oil sands project. Our technical field staff will conduct those assessments and prepare the necessary documentation required by Alberta Environment.

Visual Effects

AXYS can prepare either 2-D or 3-D models and graphics showing how a project facility will look on the landscape from various vantage points. These visual models and graphics can assist decision-making processes and are useful in public consultation.
