AXYS Green TeamAXYS Initiatives
Green FactsThe Green Facts series is designed to educate employees on issues in and around the workplace. They're full of interesting facts and ideas you can implement at your home and office.
What Can You Do?CorporateOne of our initiatives is to get people in AXYS commuting in a green manner. And thanks to the Commuter Challenge put on by Komex International, we get to indulge in a little friendly competition at the same time! You and your company can join the fun while feeling good about helping the environment. Just sign up at www.spin.komex.com. To compete, you must travel to work (or other place other than home you habitually spend your days) and back solely by self-propelled transport. And as an extra incentive to stay active when the temperature drops, the colder it is, the more points you get for that day's commute! Sign up and join us on the pathways! IndividualsThe City of Calgary now accepts all types of plastic bags for recycling at all 46 residential recycling depots. Exceptions include potato chip bags, or other bags of similar foil material. Calgary's Waste & Recycling Services collects newspaper,
magazines, mixed paper, glass, metal cans, milk cartons, plastic milk
jugs and plastic bags through a network of 46 recycling depots across
the city of Calgary. In addition, the City operates over 100 commercial
mixed paper and cardboard recycling collection bins. |
Addresses for all City of Calgary recycling depots are available on the web at www.calgary.ca or on the recycling hotline at 403-277-7770.
